Joined Customs House Chennai as Customs Appraiser in year 1991 after clearing Civil Services Exam, 1989. Worked in Government Departments dealing with issues relating to indirect taxes for next 24 years at various stations in various capacities.
Took voluntary Retirement in the year 2015, while serving as Additional commissioner of Customs in Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Mumbai.
Worked in all the three important domains of Indirect Taxes – Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax; has in-depth understanding and insight on policies and procedures related to these taxes.
Expertise lie in dealing with various policy/investigations related issues dealt in Ministry, DRI and Commissionerates of Excise as well as Customs and service Tax.

– Got various appreciations while working in DRI and Department regarding preventive, policy and administrative issues.

– While working in CBEC issued various rulings relating to classification, Project imports and Antidumping Duty.
